To protect your skin from the sun, try to do all these things:
- Cover up: Wear a hat, sunglasses, and clothes that cover your skin.
- Limit midday sun: Avoid sun between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Find shade: Under an umbrella, tree, or other shelter
- Wear sunscreen: 30 SPF or higher. Do not forget your face, neck, hands, and tops of feet. Reapply often.
- No tanning beds: UV rays are as harmful as the sun.
- Check skin regularly: Self-checks once a month. If you see a new or changing spot, see your health care provider.
- Discuss: Talk to your health care provider before taking supplements to protect your skin such as Vitamin B3 and Vitamin E, Polypodium leucotomos, and others.
