Participant tips

We asked some of our participants to share their strategies and suggestions for completing their surveys. Here's what they told us:

  • "When I get a new survey in the mail, I put it in my briefcase or knapsack so I can work on it whenever I have short periods of free time, like during my commute."
  • "I put it with my bills. When it's time to pay bills, I fill out the survey and take everything and mail it at once. Cross that off my list!"
  • "My phone interviewer was willing to call me several days in a row while I ate my lunch. It was so much easier for me to do it in short sections than trying to find time to do it all at once."
  • "I like doing it online. I'll answer some questions while dinner is cooking. I can stop whenever I need to, and my answers are all saved. When I log back in, it takes me right to where I left off."
  • "I was surprised that the latest survey was so easy to take on my phone. It’s easy to read, and easy to select my answers."
