Letter from Dr. Armstrong | Summer 2025
Greg Armstrong, MD, Principal Investigator
Welcome to the Summer 2025 issue of LTFU Update. In this edition, we focus on the importance of mental health. Many survivors face challenges like anxiety, depression, or stress, which can also affect physical health and overall quality of life.
Recent Childhood Cancer Survivorship Study (CCSS) findings have shown how cancer affects mental well-being long after treatment has ended. Studies have also shown that many survivors do not have access to adequate survivorship care.
In this issue, we hope to help close this gap by highlighting helpful resources. You will find interviews with adult survivors of childhood cancer, Kayla Cooper, Sophie Gill, and Emmalise Walton, who share their experiences and advice. You will also hear from experts in survivorship care and mental health. They suggest some resources to help you find care and support if needed.
Thank you for taking part in the LTFU Study. Your involvement helps childhood cancer patients and survivors throughout the world.
With warmest wishes,
Greg Armstrong, MD
Principal Investigator
