Your guide to health insurance and a big thanks

I’m excited to share the Fall 2024 issue of LTFU Update. This edition is dedicated to health insurance, an important topic that affects many of us.

  • We talk with Elyse Park from Harvard Medical School. Her team designed an education program to increase insurance knowledge and confidence for survivors.
  • We also have an interview with Monica Bryant, chief operating officer of Triage Cancer. She discusses insurance tips and tools.
  • In addition, survivor Martin Ribulotta shares his experiences and lessons learned while dealing with health insurance.

This fall we also highlight the incredible support for survivorship research from the Childhood Cancer STAR (Survivorship, Treatment, Access, and Research) Act passed by the United States Congress. Thanks to their funding and your participation, the Long-Term Follow-Up (LTFU) Study has received more than $8.5 million from the STAR ACT. Read more in this issue about how this new funding will expand our work.

I want to express my sincere thanks for your continued participation in the LTFU Study. Your involvement helps us improve care and outcomes for all childhood cancer survivors.

We hope you find this newsletter helpful and empowering. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact us by calling 1-800-775-2167 (8 a.m.–5 p.m. CST) or emailing ltfu@stjude.org.
